Happy Monday everyone, such a long time with no posts on here, I'm feeling very guilty I have left it so long.
Its been so long between blogs that I feel I need to keep you all on track as to what has been happening, here is just a snapshot of what I have been doing over the year. As you know I started working with ACH Group as Social Links Group Lead Artist, where I teach art out in the community and also work in respite care doing Art Therapy. My private classes have blown out and I have no room left in the mill unfortunately, sorry to everyone on a waiting listing. I am holding sip and create nights kids group sessions. I had a very successful solo exhibition at Mockingbird Lounge at Glenelg. I also had the pleasure of painting a stobie pole for the Corromandel Community Centre. Art business has been booming and unfortunately all work has left my webpage out of date and looking very lonely. The school holiday program I set up this last school holidays was a smashing success which I'm super proud of, and we incorporated face painting in with those sessions which was great fun to pull the paints out for that. I introduced everyone to my eldest daughter Akira who has over the last year started helping out with art group sessions, she is becoming a permanent fixture in my business and is super keen to learn face painting to help diversify Jinty and Rayne. Whats next, well school term has started again for all my private students so welcome back guys looking forward to what creative adventures we get up to in the next 10 weeks. This week I have been asked to curate ACH Group Southern Exhibition for SALA The Invisible Threads that Bind Us. So I will be busy getting that organised and up. In the coming weeks I have been asked to lay down the foundations for a wall mural for the ACH Group too to enable the respite clients to create a wonderful ocean mural from bottle tops. I have a few Australian Botanical paintings to do for ACH Group Christies Beach office. I'm living my creative dream and blessed to be this busy. I count my blessing everyday as a lot of creatives are unable to focus solely on a creative living to live. Again really sorry guys for being so slack on here, I'm just so busy I just haven't had time. Will try harder from now on, love to you all :-) L xoxoxo Below just some random photos of the last year xoxoxo

Hi everyone, thought I would drop you all a line and let you know of a really fun night I had a week ago. I was asked to do a Sip and Create night for a mums group, they were really interested in creating the very popular piece you have most probably see around town lately, they felt it would be a great piece to attempt while sipping some lovely Bird in the Hand and munching on some cheese and crackers while being around life long friends.
It was a great night and all the pieces turned out fantastically, some hesitant participants to begin with but as we progressed through and the painting started to take shape they were all pretty proud of the outcome. All in all a great Friday Night Mum's group get together. Thanks for asking me to come and teach you all to create something you are proud to put on your walls its a real honor to see clients blossom creatively. Happy Monday everyone, hope you are all well and happy. Last weekend I had the pleasure of holding a art party for a 10th Birthday Party, so thought I would share the finished pieces; aren't they great such a great outcome for all of them, great kids and fun was had by all.
This next few weeks I have a lot on, today is private art session, this morning we did palate knife sunset painting so much fun getting messy and having a laugh while creating. Later this week I am going to the Wellness Expo at Yankalilla and doing a live painting and answering questions about ACH Groups Art if Focus classes. Next week I'm holding a Sip and Create Evening for a Mums group. in between all this its work as normal for ACH and holding private sessions in my home studio. Lots to report over the next few weeks on here so watch this space, if you are interested in a kids art, or a Sip and Create Night feel free to drop me a query on [email protected] :-) Hope you have a great week guys xoxoxo Hi everyone, sorry again for not being a regular blogger on here, time is precious now days. I am working part time with ACH as a Lead Art Southern Suburbs so that keeps me busy 3 days a week and then I run all my art classes the other days as well as being booked for parties and sip and create nights its been a busy year so far 2021 has had some amazing growth for my business and my brand.
I was recently interviewed for the the work Im doing with ACH at Yankalilla and the article is in this Months (May) Yankalilla regional news. I am organising SALA for the southern suburbs for ACH this year too. From big things little things grow is the theme and we have some amazing art being made in class ready to be hung in the month of August. Art and Mentoring classes are going great in the home studio, I love how art helps people through their week and how much they enjoy coming each week to sit and chat and create. I am booked this weekend to hold a art party for a 10th birthday party, and later in the month I am holding a sip and create night for a mums get together group. I am very blessed to be living a life where my career is something I love so much. The only downside to being this busy is the lack of time for me to work on my own projects, its still a bit of juggling act to get it working smoothly plus my girls time not being bushed aside. Though when you drop you girls off at school and they say how proud they are of me as they are getting out of the car, it all kind of makes the juggling worth it. Anyway just wanted to say hello, let you know about the Yankalilla Regional News article and update you all of the projects I have got going on. Hope you are all well and having a great week, will attempt to post again soon xoxoxoxo L Happy Sunday Morning everyone, thought I would drop a hello and tell you all about a few things happening here for me and Jinty and Rayne.
I have taken on some new work, I am now working part time with ACH Group as a Ass Social Lead in Arts Southern Suburbs. I have the pleasure of working 3 days a week with our seniors who have wide range of capacity bringing the joy of creating into their lives. This is like a dream job for me and I'm looking forward to seeing what comes from it for me and for the people I work with. My second lot of news is I have now started running sessions that are funded under NDIS as a Art Mentor Tutor, first official session was last week, I currently have two clients. I cannot tell you how much I love my work life atm it is something I have worked extremely hard and have over come many obstacles to obtain. And don't worry I haven't stopped my other lessons or sessions and I'm still doing commissions exhibitions and competitions etc, I'm just getting the schedule and rhythm right atm ironing out the kinks. I have turned what some called just a hobby into a career that I love and that brings so much light and joy into my life. I am extremely blessed to have this little childhood dream come to fruition. Thank you to all of my followers etc without you all there liking sharing posts etc etc, 6 years ago I would never have even thought about dreaming of my career being this. With your belief in my talent I have grown into the person my 6 year old self wanted to become. Thank you xoxoxox So happy to announce that Cherry has successfully been auctioned and will hopefully be with her new mummy by the end of the week if not the beginning of next week. So happy to know this little cutie has been purchased from a collector who will cherish her. What more could a artist and animal lover want her art being loved and all it helping our precious native life. Today I am finishing off three much loved pets for a commission that is long over due. I am also organising lessons and planning a big event I am doing in March. I have been asked to hold sip and create night at a local school, so looking forward to this opportunity to spread my wings and meet some fabulous educators. Just a quick post today hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday xoxoxox Linda A good day :-) Hello lovely people, just thought I would drop you all a line and say good morning. School starts today so that means I'm back in the saddle as of today. School holidays take up a big chunk of my time and these school holidays was marred by my big woofer being diagnosed with cancer. He has had his operation and is now healing, vet is hopeful we have caught it in time so fingers crossed.
Anyway lets get down to business first blog on first school day back is all about our wildlife. As you all are most probably aware we just had quite a devastating bush fire in South Australia. And with bushfires come injured wildlife, and non profit organisation's put on their capes and get out there help the helpless. I again this year have decided to do a painting and put it up for Auction with all proceeds going to Adelaide Koala and Wildlife Hospital. We already have bids up to $50.00 going and Auction is live until the 2nd of February. To put in bids please go to my Facebook page the Auction is at the top of the page :-) Jinty and Rayne Art by Linda Hammond | Facebook I have lots of news to share in the coming days and weeks but thought I would share Miss Cherry first to kick things off. I hope you all have a wonderful first day back to school, I am looking forward to some quiet :-) Anyway have a great day Linda :-) Hello Everyone, hope you are all well and you all had a lovely holiday season, mine was busy but quiet if that makes sense. I have been super busy lately and again have been a bit slack on the Blog department. I did a quick video today of a painting that took less than 20 mins to create, so I thought it would be a great idea to show it one here. We had some sad news over the last month my big fur boy Barclay was diagnosed with cancer, he has had surgery and we are hoping we caught it early. He is 10 years old so whatever time we have left I will be happy as long he isn't sick. I have been holding lots of private art lessons and doing commissions etc. I will do a post shortly showing some new stuff I have been painting etc, I have been trying new things and styles so that is pretty exciting so I will make sure the next blog is showcasing my new works at the best they can be seen. In the meantime here is a video I had to speed up to be allowed on youtube showing from start to finish me painting a Hare, it took in total less than 20 mins to paint. :-) will blog again soon take care everyone Linda xoxoxo Hi everyone, sorry its been a while I have been very busy with lots going on, I am still doing University Bach of Fine Arts which takes up a bit of my time. So whats been happening art wise, well lets see; I am running quite a few private art classes now and thoroughly enjoying it, each class is unique in how its run, different mediums and styles which I love. I love making the sessions more personal to the client.
In October I held a Solo Exhibition "Home" at The Mockingbird Lounge with quite a few sales I'm pleased to add as I didn't think that would happen this year (2020 what a year it has been). The theme of this exhibition was Australian animals, I was informed that a couple of the piece purchased where getting sent all the way to UK for Christmas present, now that did make my day on hearing that. I have been having a roaring success in sales with Urban Cow Studios and Redbubble which has also surprised me to say the least again (2020 what a year its been). My anime/manga journey has gone forward in leaps and bounds so much so I have to start a new section on my webpage dedicated to this; one of my classes is dedicated to Manga and Anime. I have also travelled into new mediums over the last few months of clay and polymer clay, I have never been that attracted to sculpture in the past but now I'm loving the tactile experience. I have also started setting up colouring pages for everyone to download and print out. Any where to now, what plans lay ahead, well more University that's a given, I am also in the very very near future starting up sip and create classes for Adults. These sessions will be BYO, I supply the art tutoring class light snacks and of course glasses to drink your favourite drink in, session will last anywhere between 2 to 3 hours and I will mentor you through a painting from start to finish while you sip your wine munch on some cheese and crackers and look out on my beautiful view of the beach. A great way to spend a evening this spring and summer so watch this space, I'm thinking the first lesson could be either a Emu, Galah, Kookaburra, Sea Turtle or a Cockatoo in acrylics. Anyway back to it I have a commission to complete by this weekend and I'm also taking my girls to the Christmas Pageant at Adelaide Oval tonight going to be so much fun and forever grateful for the lovely tickets given to us. Enjoy your weekend everyone Linda Ok its been a while since I have done a actual blog, been a bit of a topsy turfy world atm, If you don't know I have started free art projects on here which you can find under Online Art Session. To say sorry for not blogging for so long I thought I would give you access to a free printable just in time for Easter. I had planned on doing Easter Art hunts etc, but due to you know what (Corona) that plan has been well and truly squashed, so I figured I would do the next best thing a free print for you all to share. This is available on Redbubble and Society6 but in the spirit of giving and just bringing some happiness into the world its yours to use for personal use only, please do the right thing and not attempt to make money out of it, as a freelance artist this is my design and I own the rights to it thanking you in advance in the spirit of this being given as free print please do the right thing :-) (on a side note its sad I had to put that there). Anyway hope you all have a safe and happy day take care of you L xoxoxox
Hello Everyone,
Hope this finds you all happy and well, this afternoon I held a private watercolour lesson, we did a bunny and it was so much fun. I had to share my students work, she did such a great job, she may well put me out of business :-) xoxoxox. No better way to spend a Tuesday afternoon teaching my 13 year old student to paint with watercolours. The joy on her face as her little fellow started to take shape, priceless. I have sent her on her way with homework, and next week we will be painting a face. I cannot put into words the joy art gives, it truly is a gift that keeps on giving. Just a reminder I am holding a kids group art session on the 14 of March at 1pm to do a watercolour bunny, bookings via my Facebook page :-) Greetings and Salutations Hope you are all well, happy and loving life. I just wanted to share news on my Private Art Lessons I started this year, its been a amazing ride of learning to put into words what I take for granted when I start a piece. Taking myself back to the first steps you take to start a piece has been an enjoyable experience for me. I have 3 students at present and loving my time with them as I see their face light up when they understand the steps I am explaining to them, and their eyes light up when while trying these techniques they see who their own talent and craft is improving, its such a refreshing experience. My Saturday student describes herself as someone who cant draw has to trace or use a light box to trace, she yearns to able to do realism work, I have taken her back to the basics of drawing and her improvement over 4 weeks has been mind blowing I couldn't be more prouder of her. The first two pictures are the first week the hair is last weeks work and the eye we did today, how is that for improvement, impressive isn't :-). I have also decided to take the leap to hold group classes for kids, I setting up a Watercolour Bunny Class to be held next month in time for Easter. I will set up a class to teach students how to paint a A4 Bunny in Watercolours, looking forward to some Easter Bunny fun. Watch out for notifications for this event on my Facebook Page once I have it all organised :-). Depending on response and how the session runs I may look into school holiday paint sessions as well, where we could look into Anime, Acrylics, Watercolours, Basic Drawing and so much more. Anyway just wanted to touch base and let you all know some of the things I have been up to, I will do a blog in a couple of days showcasing my table caddy I have been working on as well.
Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend, Peace Linda Hello Everyone, hope you are all well and happy, I have had a wonderful day today painting coasters, doing miniature paintings, so much fun, and this evening I am adding layer upon layer of varnish to finish them off and with every layer the painting gets new life. I love my life :-) I am taking them with some other pieces to Urban Cow Studio tomorrow.
I actually have other pieces up on display there too so if you are ever in Adelaide head down Rundle Street and seek out The Cow they are just off of Rundle Street on Vaughan Place, and once you have had a lovely stroll through their shop and gallery upstairs, why not stop at the Howling Owl and have a cool drink, its a lovely part of Adelaide, I do enjoy all our little nooks and crannies. I also received a lovely update on the Kangaroo I put up for Auction with all proceeds $450.00 going to Fauna Rescue SA, its was so nice seeing him in his new home in a lovey rustic studio. Thank you Traci for sharing the photo you have put him in the perfect spot, I love it. :-). I also received the final go ahead today on a family portrait I have been doing, its always nice when the customer is happy with the pieces. Anyway hope you are all having a great week too, and in a couple of days I will share some updates on the Koala piece Rebirth I am doing for 100 Artworks for Koala's. L xxoxoxox Hello everyone, hope you are well and happy, things have been busy here, lots of commissions which I love, and I have also been working on the Koala for 100 Artworks for Koalas, my piece will be named Rebirth, its only at the first stages at the moment I will share how we are going with him later in the week.
I found some coasters when I went for a supply pick up this week and decided what the hey lets give them a go, I ended up painting them with turtles on them, I think they are really cute. I started by giving them a light wash of white to give the beachy feel, drew the outline and then painted them with acrylic paints, I got better at it as I went on :-) Also I did a quick wood panel of a Major Mitchell in Acrylics this week, they are one of my favourites and I felt the urge, you may remember the disaster of the magpie that I did and the sealant made the paint spread across the wood panel, well guess what the Major Mitchell is the same wood panel. I just sanded it down until the majority of the magpie and disaster had gone, I got it a couple of coats of base white then a light coat of Blue Mist then sanded lightly to give it a beach feel. I think he turned out just fine, what are your thoughts on the colour etc I love the blue mist tone its so fresh with the pink and orange of the Major :-) Anyway will blog again later this week, for now its back to commissions which I cant share and my Koala for 100 artworks for Koalas check out the website its a very exciting project to be asked to be in involved in :-) Have the best week everyone and thanks for following :-) https://livingwithkoalas.com.au/100-artworks-for-a-koala/?fbclid=IwAR1xriEoZh6AoEN-z_ajSKMpNG90co4ltj3B94f7nteSoxFTiudm0sqEziU Hi lovelies, hope you are all well, there has been lots happening since my little disaster with the magpie, on a side not regarding the magpie I have sanded back the wooded disc and plan to paint a new painting on it shortly. So anyway lets get back on track, I have been a busy little bunny, I started holding private art classes in realism charcoal and graphite drawings, which was a lot of fun, I just love sharing the joy of creating and seeing how another person see and creates to their own beat. I did a gorgeous commission in watercolour of a lovely doggy named Chester who had just passed over the rainbow bridge, such a beautiful boy and was a absolute delight to create. I also did a big Turtle commission in Pastels which I finished today. My big Kangaroo in Pastels was picked up this long weekend as well, he is now with his new mummy and all the money raised went to Fauna Rescue SA. I also have some big news, I was contacted by Living with Koalas and they have asked me to do a piece of art for their project called 100 artworks for a Koala. The concept is for 100 Australian based artists to provide artwork featuring a koala, eucalyptus or bush fires or a combination. Images will be used for a book, limited edition fine prints, posters, postcards, greeting cards and various merchandise. The originals to be sold at an international auction in the US, and so much more. Check out the webpage, also if you are a fellow artist and would like to get involved their are looking for artist go to livingwithkoalas.com.au 100 artworks for Koalas they would love to hear from you :-) Its been a bit of a busy time in my little studio and I love it that way, I have lots on over the next few weeks so I will do another blog again soon telling of my adventures :-) xoxoxox
Hi everyone, Do you feel my pain :-)
Lxoxoxox Morning lovely people just wanted to update you all on my Auctions for my fundraising, $510.00 raised in total, what a way to start a week.
Hope you all have the best week, I have a few things on commission wise etc so I will be busy creating my little heart out with my two girls chilling around me, hopefully I will have some stuff to share and discuss later this week. Take care of each other, love to you all Linda xoxoxoxox So welcome back, here we are hope you all had a safe and happy Xmas and here we are 11 January 2020, I hoped to get to blogging before now but life in general has got ahead of me, as per normal my brain drifts and shifts with moods and ideas and before I know it, well you get the idea its the 11 January 2020. I have decided this weekend is the time I start tidying up my webpage and start blogging. Like a Band-Aid Linda just rip, get this done lol. Anyway so our little home had a very quiet Xmas, unfortunately my littlest cherub got gastro at around 9am Xmas morning and it was a day of running from there on in more ways the one lol. December was rather busy with commissions, November and December is always busy for a freelance portrait artist. I also did a lovely mural for a teenagers room and did a canvas painting to add to the décor, I am setting a Mural page on here and will show pictures etc on there, I hope to do many more murals in the future it was so much fun. Australia as we are all aware has been hit with devastating fires across our wonderful land and this has taken up so much of my mind, I ended up putting two pieces up for Auction with all proceeds going to two selected animal charities that will assist with the care rehabilitation and future protection of our wonderful wildlife. At the time of typing this my Kangaroo Drawing has raised $450.00 going to Fauna Rescue SA and the Koala Painting has raised $60.00 going to the Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park, Auction ends Sunday evening at Midnight. Over the break period I have also started an Australian Alphabet flash card and poster project to be put up on Redbubble etc, there was some major research in doing this as I wanted to assure that the font and placements would meet Australian School Standards and help with children with Dyslexia etc. Before Xmas I did the 12 days of Xmas where I adjusted the original carol and painted scenes each day to show the story. I am planning to do a book up for both of my girls and a couple of family members as a keepsake to be handed down through the generations, this is another project I am currently working on. Over the next few weeks I hope to set foundations down on a kids book I intend to write and illustrate, I am hoping to have this finalised before I do my Solo Exhibition at The Mockingbird Lounge this year, as The Mockingbird is a secondhand book café I am hoping to launch my book on the opening night. I also hope to get some foundations on both of my solo exhibitions later this year, this is my plan for the rest of my break before heading back to University in March, I took a extended break this year :-). I am also holding private art lessons that are booked in, which will start soon. I have big things on this year and need to get ahead of them before time catches up on me. So anyway, that's about it for now just wanted to touch base and give you all a update on the last 2 months, my blogging will become more regular as I go and will include how I do things etc, hope you are all having a lovely weekend and I look forward to blogging more frequently. Thanks Linda Hi everyone, just a quick first blog to say well I finally am getting my bottom into gear and setting up a blog page on my website, I will be working on this over the Xmas break. I hope to share my journey, how I create, show my good stuff, my not so good stuff and the stuff I just shake my head at and say out loud well that didn't go to plan. I have a lot on over the course of the coming year in 2020 so I intend to share all the highs and lows of what I have planned. Hope you join me on my journey, Will be blogging soon so watch this space :-) |
